Professional tiling works in Tallinn and Harju County – ceramic, porcelain, and mosaic tiling for bathrooms, kitchens, shower rooms, hallways, balconies, and facades. Tiling is the least forgiving finish in the whole renovation – once the grout sets, every misaligned edge, uneven joint, and hollow spot is locked in for 20 years. Torudeabi 24 tilers build the job from the substrate up: we check the floor for deflection, level it with self-levelling compound or cement screed, apply two-coat liquid membrane waterproofing in wet zones (floor-to-wall joints taped with flexible bandage, penetrations sealed with collars), dry-lay every wall before gluing to avoid thin slivers at corners, and cut porcelain on a wet saw for chip-free edges.
We install ceramic tile, porcelain stoneware, large-format slabs (up to 120×240 cm), natural stone, and glass or stone mosaic. Joints are grouted with flexible cement grout or epoxy grout depending on the room (showers, kitchens, pool surrounds), and movement joints and corners are sealed with sanitary silicone in a colour matched to the grout. We tap every tile as it is laid to verify full adhesive contact – the dull sound of a hollow tile is an immediate reason to lift and re-lay it.
We also repair existing tiled surfaces: we replace cracked tiles so the seam between old and new is invisible, renew worn silicone and grout lines, and re-waterproof and re-tile old shower walls and trays where water has started migrating into neighbouring rooms. Before any work starts we carry out a free on-site inspection and issue a fixed-price quote with a firm delivery date.
What our tiling works include
Bathroom, shower, and WC tiling: we strip old tile, level the floor with self-levelling compound up to 2 cm, board out walls with new plasterboard or cement board where needed, apply two coats of liquid membrane waterproofing to the shower floor and walls up to 150 cm height (WC floor with at least a 5 cm upstand), tape the floor-to-wall joint with flexible waterproofing bandage, and seal penetrations (pipes, drain) with collars and sealing compound. We then lay the tile in the chosen pattern – straight set, brick bond, herringbone, or checkerboard – grout, silicone-seal, and issue a 2-year warranty on watertightness and tile adhesion.
Kitchen splashback, hallway, and entrance tiling: between worktop and upper cabinets we install impact- and heat-resistant tile or glass/stone mosaic, cut precisely around sockets and taps, grout with grease-resistant grout, and silicone-seal the worktop-to-wall and unit-to-wall joints. In hallways and entrances we install wear- and moisture-resistant floor tile (PEI 4–5), add underfloor heating where the client wants it for daily foot traffic, and grout in a darker grout to hide everyday soiling.
Floor tiling in general: we lay large-format slabs (60×60, 60×120, 120×240 cm) so that the gap between adjacent tiles is no more than 1 mm, check level and plane on every tile, back-butter the adhesive on both tile and substrate for large-format tile, and cut on a wet saw for chip-free edges. On underfloor-heated floors we use flexible adhesive and flexible grout that tolerate heating cycles without cracking.
Balconies, facades, natural stone, and repair works
Balcony and terrace tiling: we lay frost-resistant (class C1 F, frost resistant) outdoor tile or porcelain stoneware with a fall to the drain (minimum 1.5%), apply a drainage membrane to the substrate (Schlüter-DITRA or equivalent), seal edges and penetrations, and grout with exterior-grade epoxy or cement grout. Where required, we also fit perimeter drainage channels and drip edges so that rainwater does not pool under the tile and freeze through winter.
Facade tiling and natural stone: we deliver both ventilated tile facades (aluminium sub-frame, clip-fixed tile) and adhesive-fixed exterior tile (klinker, porcelain stoneware, quartzite, slate). Inside the building we also lay natural stone – marble, granite, travertine, sandstone – with stone-specific adhesive and seal the surface before grouting so the grout does not soak into the porous stone and stain the face.
Tile replacements and repair works: we replace individual cracked tiles so that the overall pattern reads seamlessly, restore waterproofing and grouting in aged bathrooms, remove mould and old silicone and renew the joints with clean sanitary silicone, re-tile stairwell and common-area floors, and offer apartment associations periodic waterproofing and grout maintenance to prevent larger water damage.
