A gas pipeline carries fuel under pressure into your home – it has to be designed, welded, buried, and tested by professionals who answer to the Technical Regulatory Authority (TJA). Torudeabi 24 builds gas service connections from the street main up to the building's gas meter, runs indoor risers in apartment buildings, and lays new outdoor PE (polyethylene) and steel gas mains for private houses, apartment blocks, and commercial buildings across Tallinn and Harju County.
Every project starts from a TJA-approved design, every weld is made by a certified welder – electrofusion or butt-fusion on PE and qualified procedures on steel – every line is pressure-tested and leak-tested, and every job ends with a signed declaration of conformity and the paperwork Gaasi AS needs to energise the line.
What we build
Outdoor service connections from street main to building: we excavate the trench from the gas distribution-network connection point up to the building's gas meter, lay polyethylene (PE 100 SDR 11 or SDR 17.6 depending on pressure class) gas pipe, complete electrofusion or butt-fusion welded joints, install warning tape, reinstate the ground and surface, and produce as-built drawings of the line with GPS coordinates.
Indoor pipework and risers: in apartment buildings we run indoor gas pipework either as black-steel risers or in copper (EN 1057 and EN 10255), coordinate the gas-shut-off window with the apartment association and Gaasi AS, fit a shut-off valve and meter at every apartment entry, and re-energise the system after a successful pressure test.
Medium- and low-pressure mains: for commercial and industrial sites we build medium-pressure (up to 4 bar) and low-pressure gas mains, design the line in cooperation with a TJA-recognised designer, choose the material for the pressure class and ground conditions, and execute the route in full compliance with the relevant norms and standards (EVS-EN 12007, EVS-EN 12327).
Quality and documentation
Every weld is documented: welder certificate number, welding parameters (on PE, the data download from the electrofusion control unit), pressure-test pressure and duration, leak-test results. A random sample of welds is also checked with X-ray or ultrasonic inspection where the project requires it.
After installation we produce as-built drawings showing the GPS coordinates of the line, burial depths, connection points, shut-off valve locations, and specifications of every fitting. These drawings are handed to the building owner, the apartment association, and Gaasi AS so the building's archive always holds an accurate picture of exactly where – and in what condition – the gas pipeline runs.
Finally, we issue a signed declaration of conformity confirming that the line meets Estonian gas-installation requirements, that all welding work was carried out by qualified specialists, and that the line has passed pressure testing. This document is what allows Gaasi AS to energise the line – a new pipeline cannot be commissioned without it.
